About Kenneth Schneyer Kenneth Schneyer forgot he wanted to be a writer for about 25 years before being ambushed by a bunch of story ideas in 2006. Since then, he has sold fiction to Analog Science Fiction & Fact, Clockwork Phoenix 3, Abyss & Apex, Daily Science Fiction, Bull Spec, The Drabblecast, GUD Magazine and elsewhere. He attended the Clarion Writers Workshop in 2009, joined the Cambridge Science Fiction Workshop in 2010, and became active with Codex Writers in 2011. He’s interested in astronomy, painting, brain science, feminist theory, politics, presidential trivia, ancient history, and practically everything else. He cooks better than anyone you know. Ken Liu has made a living by writing for a long time: both by writing for machines as a programmer and by writing for lawyers as another lawyer. He finds writing fiction for readers to be more challenging than either of these pursuits. When not working on his fiction, he translates Chinese stories into English, codes iOS apps, and reads to his daughter. Occasionally, he’ll also repair old typewriters and obsolete computers. His fiction has appeared in F&SF, Asimov’s, Clarkesworld, Lightspeed, and Strange Horizons, among other places. His short story, Caretaker, appeared in Digital Science Fiction’s own First Contact. Ken lives near Boston, Massachusetts, with his wife, artist Lisa Tang Liu, and their daughter. Lisa and Ken are collaborating on a novel. About Ed Greenwood Ed Greenwood grew up in Don Mills, now part of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where he lives in a book-crammed farmhouse in the countryside halfway between Kingston and Toronto, a Paul Bunyan’s hammer throw north of the shores of Lake Ontario. A lifelong reader, library guy, writer, game designer, and book collector, Ed sold his first fiction at age six, and in the forty-some years since has published more than 180 books that have sold millions of copies worldwide in over two dozen languages. The most recent of these include the bestselling novels Elminster Must Die! and Bury Elminster Deep from Wizards of the Coast. With Gabrielle Harbowy, Ed recently co-edited the critically acclaimed anthology When The Hero Comes Home, published by Dragon Moon Press. For the Digital Science Fiction Anthologies, Ed has written “Biting A Dead Man’s Hand”, published in First Contact, the first Digital Science Fiction anthology. Ed holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Journalism from Ryerson University, and has lectured at more than a dozen universities on three continents. He has won several dozen writing and gaming awards, was elected to the Academy of Adventure Gaming Art & Design Hall of Fame in 2003, and has been a judge for the World Fantasy Awards and the Sunburst Awards, among others. When not writing, he walks the head of the household (a small but imperious cat), works in the Port Hope Public Library and is the chair of the library board of another library system, and reads books. His house is literally sagging under the weight of over 80,000 books. * Ed Greenwood Photo credit: Jenny Glicksohn – Copyright 2011 (all rights reserved) Bibliography (partial) Bury Elminster Deep: The Sage of Shadowdale Elminster Must Die: The Sage of Shadowdale Elminster Ascending: Sage of Shadowdale When the Hero Comes Home (co-editor) Biting a Dead Man’s Hand – First Contact – Digital Science Fiction Anthology 1 More You can learn more on Ed Greenwood’s Amazon author page.
